It is a story of two men

It is a story of two men, one of power and age with a crumbling relationship and one of youth and passion who lives fearlessly in love and in life. The woman in the older man's life has drifted from him, dreaming of this younger man and eventually speeding away with him.

Within this story, there are the sub-plots: one of the wise elder of Sanita (the character of Toto) as well as the younger man's little brother who looks up to him, even wearing his brother's clothes to feel closer. To add further richness and depth to the storyline, the relationship between the older and younger man should raise an eyebrow - it should be unclear if there is a "special relationship" in a Pasolini

The half-cast play between art and tailoring continues to be present in the glaring and candid white Misercordiella site. The reference to the allegorical sculpture representing Disillusionment is most evident here. Created between 1753 and 1754 by the Genovese sculpture Francesco Queirolo, an artist commissioned all over Italy by the prince of Sansevero as contribution to decorating the famous chapel part of his palazzo.

Leperino explains "La Misericordiella is a cultural hub, as well as my studio premises. It is akin to a factory, a laboratory, a playroom. I pay back to others my knowledge and know-how. On first arriving here it was an abandoned and forgotten site, an open shredded wound and brutalized urban fragment.

1752, is in memoriam to Domenico de Liguori, whose family palazzo was located nearby in Largo Pressicce. Both patrician dedicators were benefactors of the Confraternity, to which they'd donated goods and enormous wealth. The site is seriously ruined by the earthquake of 1806 and then suffers extensive damage during the bombing of the first world war. In 1967, significant restoration is completed, rebuilding the nave's ceiling and dome on the same lines. Decades of neglect follow, not helped by the 1980 earthquake which worsens matters until finally the current rebirth and launch of the SMMAVE.
