Coffee at a beachfront café, in the office, out and about on your scooter: shirts are worn every day, whatever the occasion. Shirts come in refreshing solid colors like yellow and pale shades of pink and green, and in elegant or more casual textures. The ISAIA collection is full of different patterns and styles, each made following the superb tradition of Neapolitan artisan tailoring.
To make each ISAIA shirt a one of a kind, original creation, each work process reveals characteristics and versatility typical of artisan tailoring. The armhole is prepared by hand then basted to the body of the shirt. Afterwards, the seam is filled.
Even the smallest detail is prepared with utmost care. Buttons are ISAIA’s signature on each shirt. The complete and close the work process, adding a touch of luxury to every article. Made of mother of pearl and natural horn, they are sewn on by hand using a special pattern that reproduces the shape of coral. One by one, each button is stitched with ISAIA’s distinctive red thread.
Just as each button is carefully applied, the buttonholes that hold them are also stitched with extreme precision by ISAIA seamstresses.
Wearing ISAIA Shirts is a pleasure because they follow the figure and perfectly fit at the collar, thanks to the fabric cut at a 60 degree angle and the pleated collar stay pockets. Moreover, the collar stays can be easily removed to make washing and ironing easier and to avoid problems such as marks or shiny outlines.
The sleeve placket is one of the most delicate areas of a shirt. To protect it from tears or ripped seams, each ISAIA shirt is reinforced with a hand-stitched bar from traditional Neapolitan tailoring.
A signature element on every ISAIA shirt is the mouche, which is a unique detail of Neapolitan couture tailoring. The mouche is a cotton or taffeta triangle that unites the front and back of the shirt and reinforces the hem. The last ISAIA touch is the coral logo that makes these shirts even more unique and original.
