ISAIA's fall/winter 2016-17 collection, ladies and gentlemen, is dedicated to the twenty-fifth anniversary of the debut on the international market and especially in the United States of our company established in 1957. Let's talk about the look book shot by Daniela Federici, who is also from Italy. The setting is New York, a place where I feel completely at home and where I can find all those everyday habits and little obsessions of my life in Naples, including espresso. Believe me, New York is the only place where you can enjoy a little cup of coffee the way that God intended. After Los Angeles, New York City became the home to our second ISAIA flagship store in America. We wanted to present the Southern Italian nuances of New York: special places full of memories and evocative, entertaining figures like Lello Guida the barber with his incredible traditional shop that seems right out of another era.

There are the colors and "paisane" moods of Little Italy, as well as the cheery, polished and inevitably cosmopolitan ambiance of Cipriani Downtown. All these different images and sensations tell a story conveying the extraordinary quality of Neapolitan tailoring. This phenomenon from Napoli – actually, from Casalnuovo – has made a name for itself around the globe.

In 1976 Enrico Isaia flew to the US to establish the company's first business relations with American customers. At the time, believe me, you needed considerable courage to make that kind of decision. Evidently, fortune helps the bold, especially if you have quite a bit of humor and a pinch of good luck on your side. I can say with great pride and gratefulness that ISAIA became a huge success in the USA: year after year, the brand achieved greater fame and popularity.

This New York campaign is not just a tribute to America, however, because we have expanded across the globe over the years, especially in Asia. Among our locations, I'd like to mention Tokyo, which I love: each time I visit the city, it lets me discover extraordinary new aspects of the Japanese culture and its exciting, multiform modernity. I'd also like to mention the gorgeous Baku, which is a relatively unknown but must-see destination. Ideally, along this itinerary I plan to follow in the footsteps of many Italian and Neapolitan legends who have achieved global fame primarily due to their inimitable careers and recognition. Great global ambassadors and absolute proof of the Neapolitan soul, these people include tenor Enrico Caruso, the consummate film star Sofia Loren, politician Mario Cuomo, author Mario Puzo and legendary producer Dino de Laurentis.

The message of ISAIA's winter campaign blends evocation and distinctive design. The symbol that represents this experience is the classic herringbone motif used as a pattern and weave and also as a signature detail on all of the items in our winter collection. This motif, which was in vogue in the seventies, has been reinterpreted and faithfully reproduced, inspired by the original fabrics of the time found through careful research of our archives. For this reason, the ISAIA F/W 2016-17 collection is called Coral Herringbone.
